Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) is now looking for a Digital Event Manager to join the logistics team in organizing World Water Week, the leading annual global event on water and development.
In 2021, World Water Week was held entirely online with over 400 sessions, gathering 500 organizations and more than 9000 participants from 180 countries. Looking ahead, we aim to develop both the on-site and on-line programme, with a digital and a physical venue.
In this role, you will be involved in all features of the event that touches both on-site and on-line, with the goal to deliver a seamless event experience across the different formats. Your main responsibilities will be the venue platform setup, design and integration to the registration system; the registration system set-up and design; preparing participate statistics; preparing and delivering training on platform and digital tools; as well as setting-up platform and registration support. In close collaboration with the event team your role is to ensure that the user journey between on-line and on-site is as seamless as possible.
The role
We are looking for a Digital Event Manager to manage the on-line elements of World Water Week throughout the entire process. This is a fixed full-time position, with 6 months’ probation, starting as soon as possible. The job is based at the SIWI offices in Stockholm, Sweden, with an expected office attendance of at least 50% on a weekly basis. Permission to work in Sweden is required.
You will part-taken and share responsibility of the overall elements of the on-line event planning and management. You will organize all the details for the on-line event and manage each phase of the event to ensure it runs smoothly and offers a seamless event experience across the entire event. Our ideal candidate has at least three years of digital event planning experience, UX/UI knowledge and has a documented history of delivering successful digital events. You understand that flexibility is key when working with events and you can jump in and support the team, when necessary, with various other tasks, to ensure smooth delivery of the entire project.
Under the leadership of the Senior Manager for overall logistics of World Water Week & Prizes you will be part of an experienced team of highly skilled professionals responsible for delivering World Water Week, the Stockholm Water Prize and Stockholm Junior Water Prize.
Who are you?
You are passionate about events, digital platforms and strive to deliver seamless user journeys. You are a true team player, structured, communicative, and proactive. You have worked with events and with organizing on-line events for a few years and understand on-line behavior well. You want to put your planning and UX skills to use to create the perfect meeting place for all who want to address the world’s greatest global water challenges. You are:
- Experienced in planning and coordinating all aspects of large digital events throughout the complete project lifecycle
- Have technical experience with virtual event platforms and video conferencing tools
- Can communicate and cooperate effectively with suppliers, convenors, participants, colleagues, and management
- Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Have strong sense of customer service and are solution oriented
- You can develop and deliver trainings and training materials for convenors and internal teams
- You have experience with design thinking and agile methodologies
- UX skills
- Writing and editing web contents and assets tailored to the target audience
- Ability to work independently, proactively and be self-sufficient
- Ability to simultaneously handle many different tasks and periodically at a high tempo.
- Can lead and coordinate many interdependent systems suppliers (registration provider, platform provider, web support and others)
- Excellent English writing skills (native)
